Children of Hendricus Johannes van Gorkum and Dirkje van Weerden (generation JMV-h49)
Hendricus Johannes was son of Evert van Gorkum and Adriana Johanna van der Lingen (generation JMIV-e16) and grandson of Jelis van Gorcum and Aletta van Drakenburgh (generation JMIII-j79).

JMVI-a71. Adriana Johanna
Adriana was baptized in the Domkerk (Dom church) on 27 November 1771. The family lived in the ABC-straat (ABC Street). "Jaantje", as she was called, was a witness on 7 November 1810 when a child of her brother was baptized. She died in the house op de Kamp A 28 of her sister Stijntje and brother-in-law Willem on 4 May 1816, 45 years old, unmarried. Willem notified the authorities of her death.

JMVI-s74. Stijntje
Stijntje was baptized in the Domkerk on 8 May 1774. Now the address was Lange Nieuwstraat (Long New Street). She married Willem Cornelis Koppenbrouw in Utrecht on 30 September 1800. At the time of the wedding Stijntje lived in the Sakkedragersteeg (Bag Carriers Alley) and Willem Cornelis in the Springweg. His profession was coachman. Stijntje died on 12 December 1814, 42 years old, living at the address Op de Kamp, quarter A number 28.

JMVI-h76. Hendrika Johanna
Hendrika Johanna was baptized in Utrecht on 11 January 1776. The address was still Lange Nieuwstraat. She married in Utrecht on 10 May 1815 Pieter van Rijn, born in Amsterdam on 26 May 1785, baptized in a Roman Catholic church, son of Nicolaas van Rijn and Sophia Nieuwhaus. Pieter was a salesman.

JMVI-c78. Catrina
Catrina was baptized in the Domkerk (Dom Church) on 9 December 1778. She was mentioned as godmother on 8 January 1804 when a child of her brother Hendricus Johannes was baptized. Catharina lived in the Zakkedragersteeg (Bag Carriers Alley) then, maybe together with her sister Stijntje. Her brother was approximately three years younger than she.

JMVI-h82. Hendricus Johannes
Hendricus was baptized in the Domkerk on 12 May 1782. In a military record of 1814 the name of Hendricus Johannes was found, but this Hendrikus Johannes was born on 31 May 1787 and living in the Drakenburgsteeg (Drakenburg Alley), his profession being a carpenter. So far we have not been able to match this information.

Hendricus married Jacoba Maria van Manen in the Catharinekerk (St. Catharine's Church) on 22 February 1803. Jacoba Maria was born in Rhenen about 1786 and daughter of Gijsbertus van Manen. The mother's name is not known. Jacoba Maria lived in the Schoutesteeg (Sheriff's Alley) at the time of the wedding and Hendrikus Johannes in the Sakkedragersteeg (Bag Carriers Alley). Hendricus Johannes was schrijnwerker (carpenter). His wife died on 4 May 1831 and was buried in the Catharinekerk, although their address had been Nicolaikerkhof A 201 (Nicolas Church Court). Again, it was brother-in-law Willem Koppenbrouw who gave notice of the death to the authorities. At least seven children were born, who are mentioned on the page about
generation VII.

Children of Clement van Gorkum and Antje van Voorst (generation JMV-c50)
Clement was son of son of Evert van Gorkum and Adriana Johanna van der Lingen (generation JMIV-e16) and grandson of Jelis van Gorcum and Aletta van Drakenburgh (generation JMIII-j79).

Clement's life would turn into a tragedy. In total he had eleven children of which only one grew up. In all those years the address stayed the same: Springweg, or more precisely, near the Brandsteeg (Fire Alley), quarter B number 366. Most, if not all, the children were baptized in the Domkerk (Dom Church).

JMVI-e87. Everhardus
Everhardus was baptized on 9 May 1787, but died on 1 July 1787.

Joannes was a button maker. He was born in Reeuwijkerbrug about 1798, son of Willem Heuser and Geertruij van den Berg. A daughter Hendrica Heuser, born towards the end of May 1822, was officially recognized when they married.
