Children of Willem Cornelis van Gorkum and Carolina Alberdina van Dremmeltraadt (generation JMVII-w06)
Willem Cornelis was son of Hendrikus Johannes van Gorkum and Jacoba Maria van Manen (generation JMVI-h82) and grandson of Hendrikus Johannes van Gorkum and Dirkje van Weerden (generation JMV-h49).

VIII-w30. Willem Willem
Willem was born on 7 February 1830. Johannes Dremmeltraadt, brother of mother Carolina, who lived at the address Onder de Linden (Under de Lindens, "Unter den Linden") and Willem Cornelis van Gorkum, who lived at Op de Kamp, tailor, gave notice of this birth. Later, when Willem Cornelis and Carolina Alberdina married, this child was recognized, Willem and Carolina declaring to be father and mother of the child.

VIII-j35. Jacoba Maria
Jacoba was born in Utrecht on 24 July 1835. She married in Utrecht Gerrit Johannes Uitermark on 2 June 1858. He was born in Utrecht on 23 May 1834 and son of Anthonie Johannes Uitermark, deceased 12 March 1847, and Cornelia van Dorsten.

VIII-c37. Clement Carel
Although "Clement" is a name that fits very well within this family it is not sure whether he was named after an ancestor. He was born in Utrecht on 27 February 1837 and his last name was written as "Gorcom". He married three times. In Utrecht on 26 January 1859, he married Johanna Mechtelina Wilhelmina Liefland, born in Utrecht on 2 October 1835. She was daughter of Willem van Liefland and Anna Catharina Gersen. His second wife was Maria van Ketel. Clement Carel and Maria had one son we know of. In Middelburg, in the Province of Zeeland, Willem Cornelis van Gorcum was born, obviously named after his grandfather. Most likely, Maria died and Clement Carel married his third wife Petronella Wijtman, about 48 years old, in Middelburg on 22 April 1898. She was daughter of Matthijs Wijtman and Catharina Spanjersberg.

Son Willem Cornelis, in fact generation IX, married Maria Anna Sibilla de Jong in Nieuwer Amstel on 5 May 1893. She was born in Dantumadeel in the province of Friesland, and daughter of Reinier de Jong and Eléonora Maria Zelle. Willem Cornelis' profession was pharmacist. The father of the bride was a goldsmith. The marriage of Willem Cornelis is mentioned on this page as he is the only child of Clement Carel we know of.

VIII-c38. Carolina Alberdina
Carolina, named "van Gorkom", was born in Utrecht on 8 November 1838 and married in Utrecht on 12 June 1867 Christiaan Meijer, son of Hendrik Meijer and Elisabeth Elling. Christiaan was born in Utrecht on 15 July 1837. Carolina was a dress maker. Christiaan's mother Elisabeth had already deceased in Utrecht on 20 July 1849. Carolina died in Utrecht on 7 February 1929.

VIII-j44. Johanna Petronella
Johanna, another daughter, was born in Utrecht about 1844. She married in Utrecht one year younger Johannes Antonie Thoomes on 15 March 1871. He was born in Tiel, a village about 25 kilometres south-east of Utrecht. He was son of Leendert Thoomas and Janna Groh.

VIII-a52. Anthonie
Anthonie was born in Utrecht in 1852. He married in Utrecht on 21 August 1878 Antje van Rijswijk. She was born in Amersfoort. This family moved to Jutphaas, a village south of Utrecht. Most of their children were born there. Anthonie died in Jutphaas on 17 June 1888. Their children are mentioned on the page about generation IX.


  
Children of Pieter van Gorkom and Carolina Bommel (generation JMVII-p23)
Pieter was son of Hendrikus Johannes van Gorkum and Jacoba Maria van Manen (generation JMVI-h82) and grandson of Hendrikus Johannes van Gorkum and Dirkje van Weerden (generation JMV-h49).

VIII-c46. Carolina Carolina
Carolina was born in Utrecht on 15 March 1846. She married on 3 February 1875 Rijk Rijksen, born in Utrecht on 26 December 1849.

VIII-j52. Jacoba
Jacoba was born in Utrecht on 22 June 1852. She married Teunis de Graaff in Utrecht on 2 May 1891. He was born in Vianen, a village south of Utrecht, on 23 May 1859. He was a workman. Jacoba died in Vleuten on 16 January 1930.

VIII-t55. Theodorus
Theodorus was born in Utrecht on 9 July 1855. He became a painter of carriages. On 30 May 1877 he married in Utrecht Hendrika Vasse (sometimes called Hasse), who was born on 18 April 1852. She was daughter of Cornelis Vasse, deceased 30 May 1858, and Catharina Johanna de Hes, deceased 17 May 1852, Utrecht. So Hendrika was just one month old when her mother died and six years old when her father died. Their children are mentioned on the page about generation IX. Hendrika died in Utrecht on 2 August 1909. Theodorus died in Utrecht on 23 June 1940, 94 years old.

VIII-j63. Jan Roelof
Jan Roelof was born in Utrecht on 9 May 1863. On 27 May 1891 he married in Utrecht Wilhelmina Hendrika Slingerland. She was born in Utrecht on 12 August 1865 and daughter of Cornelis Slingerland and Dirkje Anna Maria Gille. Jan Roelof was a saddle maker. The father of the bride was a brush maker. Jan Roelof died in Utrecht in September 1933, 70 years old, living in the Berkstraat then. Wilhelmina died in Vleuten about 12 April 1948.
